Brockway Diary Collection
Diary collection, 1866-1897, of the Brockway family, including Daniel D. Brockway, his wife Lucena Brockway, J. N. Scott and his wife Mrs. J. N. Scott. It is probable that this last individual is the Brockway's daughter, Sarah L. Scott, one of the earliest white persons to have been born in the Lake Superior region. The majority of the diaries (twenty-seven of the thirty-two items) are by Lucena Brockway.

Dorothy Simonson Diary
Diary, 1932-1933, of Dorothy Peterman Simonson. Written during a winter spent on Isle Royale, Michigan as a school teacher to her son as well as the children of the island's innkeepers. Includes a typewritten transcription as well.
Edwin J. Collins Collection
Collection, 1897-1956, of Edwin J. Collins, a veteran of the Spanish-American War, a 1903 graduate of the Michigan College of Mines (later Michigan Technological University) and eventual member of the board of directors for the Calumet and Arizona Mining Company. Includes diaries, photographs, textbooks, instruments and mine maps of properties he worked on as well as several souvenir spoons and service medals from the Spanish-American War.
Ernest Townsend Collection
Collection, 1920-1981, of Ernest Townsend, a professor at the Michigan College of Mining and Technology (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan. Includes personal diaries or date books of Ernest and his wife Libby, awards, photographs, and playbills as well as information about the various organizations he was part of and about his years of employment and service to the college.

Her diary chronicles events in the Copper Country of Michigan's Western Upper Peninsula as well as events of national interest such as the death of Queen Victoria and the assassination of President William McKinley.
