Andrew Jackson Collection
Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company Forest Survey Records
Forest survey records, 1896-1943, describing land owned by the company on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Along with the survey notes are copies of notes prepared by Henry S. Graves in 1896 as part of his working plan for the management of the company's forest lands and a copy of a report on forest management of the area in the 1930s, written by J. W. Toumey. The land described in these records extends from the edge of the Ottawa National Forest to Sault Ste. Marie.

Report, 1973-2005, on the archaeological excavation of Site 20 KE 53, Cliff Mine in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, done in 1973 by Eleanor Andrews, at that time on the faculty of Michigan Technological University's Department of Social Sciences. Includes the final report, maps, references, bibliographies, research notes and field notes and material.

Douglass Houghton Papers
Papers, 1830-1846, of Douglass Houghton, Michigan's first state geologist as well as a physician and scientist. Includes correspondence, survey maps, geological field notes for the interior Lower Peninsula, the shorelines of the Lower and Upper Peninsulas, and the southern shoreline of Lake Superior, Isle Royale, and the Upper Peninsula. Also includes a calendar and a small index volume with names.

Collection, 1850-1934, compiled by H. Kenneth Hamar. Contains a history of Chassell, Michgan and records from various lumber companies of Michigan's Upper Peninsula including Hamar Land and Lumber Company, Worcester Lumber Company and the Sawyer-Goodman Lumber Company as well as land grant certificates, Houghton Chassell and Southwestern Railroad papers and various correspondence.

Collection, undated, of Harry T. Mercer, long-time employee of the Copper Range Mining Company and resident of Painesdale, Michigan. Includes technical drawings, a card index, and field notes.
Henry Olk Field Notebooks
Field notebooks, 1908-1946, of Henry J. Olk, a graduate of the Michigan College of Mines (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan. Includes three field notebooks, two of which date from his time at the College, while one is dated considerably later, probably while he was working as the City Engineer in Antigo, Wisconsin. Also includes a textbook, apparently compiled by Olk from a mining class.
