Abstract

David S. Coon was born in Hancock around 1889 where he established Coon's Drug Store in the 1920s. Along with his wife Florence, he moved to Escanaba in the late 1930s. Coon became one of the leading figures behind the formation of the Delta County Historical Society and served as its secretary-curator. The collection contains newspaper clippings and correspondence relating to the history of the Copper Country compiled by David S. Coon.
