Correspondence, 1906-1911, between Professor Frederick W. Sperr of the Michigan College of Mines in Houghton, Michigan and the Grand Rapids Plaster Company, a gypsum mining company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sperr was contacted as a consultant for the company regarding several cave-ins of the roof and falling rock that the mine was experiencing.

Also includes a textbook, apparently compiled by Olk from a mining class.
