Biography

Marko Lulich was born in Bergland, Michigan and graduated from its high school in 1945. He joined the Navy in April, 1945, served through August when World War II ended -- and one year after. Marko graduated from Northern Michigan College (now Northern Michigan University) in Marquette, Michigan, taught in Bergland for one year, and then in Livonia, a suburb of Detroit. In 1967 he became the superintendent of the Bergland school system, later serving as superintendent in Johannesburg-Lewiston and in Bellevue, both in lower Michigan. __As a boy, Marko tuned in when tales of Bergland's early years were being told. He eventually began taping old timers and collecting photos. Retiring in 1984, he undertook serious research - then began writing. "Akogibing" is the result (excerpted from book jacket).
