Scope and Contents
Diplomas, circa 1934, awarded to Leo Baillargeon of Lake Linden for various academic accomplishments, as well as an undated photograph of his parish pastor, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Napoleon J. Raymond. In addition to his high school diploma from St. Joseph School in Lake Linden, signed by Msgr. Raymond, Baillargeon also received accolades from commercial colleges for his writing, rapid calculation ability, and other business skills.

Biographical / Historical
Leo Adelard Baillargeon was born in Lake Linden to Joseph and Mary Baillargeon on August 26, 1917. A lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in his hometown, Baillargeon graduated from its parish school in 1934. In that year and the one that followed, he pursued correspondence courses from national commercial colleges to develop his business skills.
Baillargeon worked as a carpenter, for various Copper Country businesses, and in maintenance at UPPCO. He retired in 1980 from UPPCO.
On May 24, 1941, he married Dorothy Beaudoin at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and they were married until his death. The nuptial celebration was presided over by Rev. Msgr. Raymond. The couple had six children.
Leo Baillargeon died in Houghton on January 23, 2011. He was survived by his wife and four children.
