Collection Scope and Content Summary
Student research paper, 1982, and visual appendices documenting streetcars in the Copper Country between 1900 and 1930. The materials were prepared by Diana Keranen as part of her coursework for David Halkola's History of the Upper Peninsula class at Michigan Technological University; Keranen's narrative is accompanied by photographs of several Houghton County Traction Company facilities as they appeared in the early 1980s, maps of the streetcar lines near Calumet, Laurium, and Lake Linden, and other materials related to street rail.
