Notebooks, 1923-1968, of Reynolds M. Denning, a graduate of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology in Houghton, Michigan. Subsequently Denning became a professor at Michigan Technological University and later the University of Michigan. Field notebooks include undergraduate class work in mines in Ishpeming and Negaunee, Michigan as well as notebooks from his work in Bolivia during World War II and Little Rock, Arkansas. Also includes clippings. The bulk of this collection dates from 1937-1943.

Biography
Reynolds M. Denning was an alumnus of the Michigan College of Mining and Technology (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan. He was a mineralogist known for his research into the directional hardness in diamonds. He taught at Michigan Technological University and later at the University of Michigan. During World War II he worked at the Siglo Viente mine in Llallagua, Bolivia, and donated a comprehensive collection of Bolivian minerals to the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum.
