Biographical Note
The Pastora/Pastore, Boggio, and Ricca families originated in the Piedmont region of Italy and moved to the United States beginning in the 1880s. Members of the Pastore/Pastora families went first to the iron mines of Michigan, residing in Iron Mountain before relocating to South Range in about 1893. In about 1888, Raymbaultown, near Calumet, became home to individuals from the Boggio and Ricca families; in the early 1900s, they moved to South Range, where they remained.
Descendants of the families have settled throughout the United States and have enjoyed success in business, law, and military service.
