Biography
Frederick "Fred" Aho was born in Ishpeming, Michigan circa 1887 to John and Maria (Juoveri) Aho. He had at least two younger sisters, Ida and Rose. In his youth, Aho worked a farm laborer, assisting his father and other Finnish agriculturalists near his home in Toivola. Later, Aho changed his surname to Ahod and moved to the more isolated locale of Misery Bay. He died on January 9, 1974 in Hancock.
