Photograph albums, 1946, compiled by Frances Mary Potter during extended summer travel in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with brief stops in northern Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada. Includes two photograph albums and two folders of loose album material, such as a road map, miniature booklets, postcards, and photographs.

Biographical note

Frances Mary Potter was born Frances Mary Zoric on April 19, 1910 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Croatian immigrants. After a period of courtship, she married into the Potter name on April 8, 1931. Early in her marriage she lived briefly with her in-laws in Michigan, but soon moved back to Chicago with her husband. She earned a two-year bookkeeping certificate while living in Chicago and was employed as a bookkeeper by the Galien Clinic (formerly known as the O'Malley Clinic). In addition to bookkeeping duties she also served as a secretary for Dr. John O'Malley and his successors. She was the proud mother of three daughters and one son. Mrs. Potter retired with the clinic doctors and staff at its final closing at the age of 84. She passed away on April 25, 2004.
