Biography
Lauri Leskinen was born in 1913 and resided in Mohawk, Michigan. He was an artist as well as an ardent woodsman who initiated the "Save the Estivant Pines" effort. "The Red Metal News" was a monthly newsletter published by and for employees of the Calumet Division of the copper mining company, Calumet and Hecla, Inc.
