The first series mostly relates to the clerk's administration of the vote, including designing ballots. Historical Note
Elections in Houghton County (above the township and village level) are administered by the county clerk under the supervision of the Michigan secretary of state. The county Board of Election Commissioners, which consists of the judge of probate, the county clerk, and the county treasurer, holds legal responsibility for approving the actions of the county clerk.
