Biography

The Algomah Mining Company had one shaft near Mass City, Michigan. The company was organized in 1852 and worked the mine until 1854 when the mine was deemed a failure and closed. A new Algomah Mining Company was formed in 1910, and while no rock was ever milled on site, refined copper was recovered from hand-picked ore. The mine shut down shortly after 1914.
