Biography

The Lake Superior Mining Institute was a professional organization of mining engineers in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ontario, Canada. Their annual meetings rotated around the mining districts of the Lake Superior basin. Meetings included paper presentations of a wide variety of topics, including contemporary accounts of specific mine operations and historical pieces about the region.
