Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Slides, approximately 1970s-2002, of the Copper Country. Included in the collection are views of buildings and landscapes within Keweenaw, Ontonagon, and Houghton County, with particular focus on the Calumet area, Quincy and Hancock, and Houghton; as well as copies of historic maps and photographs.

Also included in the collection is material related to White Pine and White Pine in Ontonagon County. This material includes negatives and contact sheets of images taken by Ed Brown, mostly of unidentified properties and a survey booth for White Pine situated outside of the Red Owl Store. Also included are White Pine related buttons, which read: “I Live in White Pine, Michigan,” “I’ve Been to White Pine Michigan,” “I Visited White Pine, Michigan,” and “I [heart] White Pine, Michigan.”
