Scope and Contents
Photographs, approximately 1860s-1930 and 1960s, from the estate of Hattie Harju Bartonen. Included are photographs of unidentified individuals, groups of people (families?), school groups; as well as exterior views of buildings, including businesses, schools, and churches. The vast majority of photographs in the accession are mounted cabinet and imperial cabinet cards dating from the late 19th Century and early 20th Century. Many of the cards included are from well-known local photography studios in the Copper Country, including Haefer (Hancock), Taylor (Hancock), Stolt and Steckbaure (Red Jacket), and Nara (Calumet).
