Collection Scope and Content Summary

Collection, 1968-1997, 2018 from the Michigan Technological University Veterans Club, a social group comprised of university alumni and students who also served in the armed forces. The collection includes the organization's charter and constitution, meeting minutes, photographs, account books, journals, a scrapbook, and an assortment of textiles with logos, objects, and memorabilia. Of note within the memorabilia is a wooden carving of the Michigan Tech Veterans Club logo – a duck (“Ruptured” duck from World War II) depicted in a mug of beer with a slide rule in his mouth. The item was created by Jim Kerr and was the winning design in 1969.
